General Beliefs
The Plains Indians believed in one god (The great spirit) the Sioux called it Wakan Tanka
They believe that they are guided by a spirit animal also called a Zodiac sign
Plains Indians also believe all living creatures haves souls/spirits
They believe in a medicine man who supposedly can heal someone's spirit
They also believe in a spiritual journey in the wilderness alone to find there spirit animal
They groom and wash the body and the wrap it in burch bark then bury the body cause they believed it would prepare it for the afterlife
